Our little corner of Southwest New Mexico is full of unique and intersting activities. In addition to camping, here are some suggestions of our favorite sites and things to do nearby in July.

Hiking the Gila National Forest 

The Gila is home to over 1,000 miles of remote and scenic hiking trails. You'll find trails for all levels of experience, from easy strolls to challenging hikes.

Backpacking 

For the adventurous who want to travel further away from the beaten path of roads, the Aldo Leopold Wilderness is a great place for backpacking. There are several trails that offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

Fishing

A favorite summer pastime for many,  nearby Lake Roberts is a popular spot for fishing. You can catch a variety of trout and other species.

Wildlife Viewing

 The Gila National Forest is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, elk, bears, and mountain lions. If you're lucky, you may see one on your local adventure!

Catwalk Trail

This moderate 2.4 mile out-and-back trail offers stunning views of the Mimbres River Valley and the surrounding mountains. It's a perfect spot to escape from the midday summer heat!
